My new dummy radial just arrived from Tiano. Although it will still need a bit of trimming, it’s not much at all.

Should work pretty good. Here’s a shot with it backed up against the Aerotech radial.

I was going to see about fitting Aerotech’s radial in the cowl, but…

Seems as though it would need a monster bit of trimming. So, rather than that, I went back to the web and found a slightly smaller radial (7.25″) from Tiano’s accessory page.
Should be here in a few days and we’ll see how it looks/fits.
Not sure if that’s the technical name, but the splitter that goes on the bottom part of the cowl is in. This is one of the parts I ordered from Aerotech, but it was WAY to big for my cowl.

A bit of chopping, filing and held in with a bit of epoxy and microballons – now it’s set!
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve made any progress, but with Halloween and other projects out of the way, I drug myself down-stairs to start up again.
I decided to work my way back in slowly, so I’m going to work on the static prop. All the blades are sanded and ready for paint.

The hub is also just about ready. I found that the Aerotech hub needed some nuts to match the full-size, so I found that by drilling out the hub, I could thread in 2-56×3/4 hex bolts, then thread on the matching nuts. It looks perfect and should match when painted.
